Sell TF2 items for cash on Merchant.TF
What TF2 items can you sell?
We buy keys, Unusuals, Australiums, Stranges, killstreak weapons, taunts, Tour of Duty Tickets, cosmetics and more. If it has value in the TF2 economy, odds are we’ll make you an offer on it. Want to see if we’re buying something? Sign in and search for it on the sell page, and you’ll see what we’d pay for it.
You can sell one item or up to your entire backpack in a single trade.
How our prices work
We price items via live TF2 market data such as what items have recently sold for, current buying and selling activity, and the going key rate. When the market moves, our prices adjust accordingly, so the offer you see reflects what your items are actually worth. We still encourage you to compare against other sites to make sure you’re getting the best deal.
Any fees on top of our prices are shown upfront before you sell. If you want to keep them to a minimum, you can always choose a payout method with low or no fees, such as Litecoin.
What payout methods are available?
Selling on Merchant.TF vs the Steam Community Market
On the Steam Community Market, sales go to your Steam wallet and can only be spent on Steam. Each item must be individually listed, carries a 15% fee, and sells whenever a buyer comes along.
On Merchant.TF, you sell any number of items in one trade and get paid in real money through PayPal or crypto. No listing by hand or waiting for a buyer, and the only fee is the payout fee, which you see before you confirm.
Built by people who actually understand TF2
Most instant-sell sites are built for other games first. If they take TF2 items at all, it’s a small selection, priced well below their fair market value. Merchant.TF is built for TF2. We buy almost anything that has value in the TF2 market, and price it fairly.
Merchant.TF is run by people who have played and traded TF2 for years, and if you ever want to talk to one of us, you can find us in our Discord.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sell TF2 items for real money?
Simply sign in through Steam, select the items you want to sell from your inventory, and choose whether you wish to receive PayPal or crypto. Our bot will send you a Steam trade offer which you can accept and confirm in your Steam mobile app, and the payout is sent the moment the trade completes.
What are the fees?
Payouts via PayPal have a small processing fee shown on the sell page. Payouts via cryptocurrency only carry the network fee for the coin you choose. There are no hidden fees and the amount you will receive after fees is shown before you request the trade.
How long do payouts take?
Payouts are sent out as soon as the trade is accepted. Depending on the method you choose, PayPal payouts can take a few minutes to arrive in your account, while cryptocurrency payouts can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour depending on which coin/network you choose. You can track the status of your latest payouts on the trade history page.
What TF2 items can I sell?
You can sell a wide range of TF2 items on Merchant.TF, including keys, Unusuals, Australiums, Stranges, killstreak weapons, taunts and cosmetics. However, some items may be unavailable for instant sale due to low demand or unpredictable prices. If we're not currently buying your item, get in touch with our team and we'd be happy to make you a custom offer.
How are your prices determined?
Our prices track the live TF2 market: recent sale prices, current buying and selling activity, the going key rate, and prices on other marketplaces. We encourage you to price-check your items on other marketplaces before selling.
Is Merchant.TF legit?
Of course! Tens of thousands of traders have sold through Merchant.TF, and we're rated Excellent on Trustpilot. You sign in via Steam OpenID, so we never see your password or other sensitive account details. Every transaction is done through a standard Steam trade offer you confirm yourself, and payments are handled by PayPal and other trusted third-party providers. We don't store any payment details or personal information, and we have advanced fraud protection systems in place to keep your funds safe.
One thing worth remembering: we will never message you first on Steam or Discord. Anyone who does is impersonating us.
Do I need Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator?
Yes, Steam requires Steam Guard for trading. Without it, your items can be held for up to 15 days on every trade. Once you've enabled it and waited out the 7-day window, the hold is removed from your account and you can trade freely without restrictions. It also keeps your account safer, since each trade requires your manual approval from your phone. It usually takes around five minutes to set up through the official Steam app, and you can always contact our support if you need help or have any questions.
Will selling items affect my Steam account?
No, your items are sent through a standard Steam trade offer, the same kind you'd use trading with a friend, and you approve it yourself in the Steam app. We never ask for your password or API key, only for your trade URL so we can send you trades. Traders have been selling here since day one without issues, and we like to keep it that way.
Can I sell my whole backpack at once?
Yes, select as many items as you want and everything goes through in one trade with one payout. No listing items one by one and no per-item fees stacking up. It's also far easier than cashing out through individual traders: you get comparable rates, one trade instead of dozens, and no risk of dealing with strangers.
